Fault text
Charge-air temperature sensor 2, electrical: Short circuit to
B+

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the upper voltage limit on
the charge-air temperature sensor on Bank 2.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the sensor voltage of the
charge-air temperature sensor 2 > 3.17 V.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in wiring harness
- Charge air temperature sensor defective
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- None
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- Time after end of start phase > 60 sec.
Other conditions:
- none

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 2.5 sec.

Action in service
- Visual examination of plug-in contacts (at component and
DME ends) Perform electrical measurements on sensor wire,
power supply and ground (possible intermittent open!)
- Replace sensor
