Fault text
Radiator outlet temperature sensor, electrical: Short to B+ or
open circuit

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the upper voltage limit of
the temperature sensor at the radiator discharge fitting.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the voltage exceeds 3.24 V.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in wiring harness between DME and sensor
- Sensor defective
Terminal condition: none
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 9.15 V
Temperature condition:
- Intake-air temperature > -5.25 °C OR if lower than -5.25
°C, then time after end of start phase > 120 sec.
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- none

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 3 sec.

Action in service
- Check wiring harness between DME and sensor
- Replace sensor

Possible apparent symptoms:
- Possible slight reduction in power
- Fan rotates at high speed
