Fault text
Exhaust flap, activation: short circuit to ground

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the electrical connection
between the DME and the electric exhaust-flap pilot valve.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when a short circuit to ground is
present while a control-activation signal is being transmitted
to the electric exhaust-flap pilot valve.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in wiring harness between DME and electric
exhaust-flap pilot valve
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- 5 sec.
Other conditions:
- Component must receive activation signal

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 2 sec.

Action in service
- Disconnect electric exhaust-flap pilot valve and examine
wiring harness

- none
Possible apparent symptoms:
- Change in exhaust note.
