Fault text
Charge-air temperature sensor, gradient: offset too high

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the signal from the charge-
air temperature sensor on Bank 1 for excessive offset.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the charge-air temperature is
15 °C above the coolant temperature while the coolant
temperature is simultaneously roughly equal to the ambient
temperature.
Potential problem source(s):
- Defect in wiring harness
- Charge air temperature sensor defective

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 1.5 sec.

Action in service
- Visual inspection of the sensor and its wiring
- Measure sensor wire, power supply and ground
- Replace sensor
