Knock-sensor signal 3, signal: implausible

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the knock sensor for
cylinders 5 and 6.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when the knock signal is implausible
for the current operating point. (Static evaluation, so no
threshold value)
Potential problem source(s):
- Loose screw on knock sensor
- Defect in wiring harness between DME and knock sensor
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- None
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- 1 - 3 sec.
Other conditions:
- Engine speed > 1500 rpm
- Air mass > 180 mg/hr

Condition for fault memory entry
The diagnostic fault code is logged when the fault remains
present for more than 20 crankshaft revolutions.

Action in service
- Loose screw on knock sensor
- Check wiring harness between knock sensor and DME
- Replace knock sensor
