Fault text
Coolant pump for intercooler, deactivation: overload current

Fault description
The diagnostic function monitors the current draw of the
intercooler water pump.

Condition for fault identification
Test condition:
The fault is recognized when sticking/seizure causes the
current draw at the intercooler water pump to become too
high.
Potential problem source(s):
- Foreign matter
- Stiction
- Coolant mixture ratio incorrect
- Intercooler water pump defective
Terminal condition: Terminal 15
Voltage condition:
- Electrical system voltage > 10 V
Temperature condition:
- None
Time condition:
- None
Other conditions:
- No faults should be present on the LIN bus

Condition for fault memory entry
This fault is logged in the control module's fault memory if
it remains present for longer than 10 sec.

Action in service
- Check coolant (foreign matter, mixture ratio)
- Replace intercooler water pump

Breakdown notice:
- none
Possible apparent symptoms:
- Reduced power

Driver information
Warning light:
- ECE emissions warning lamp: off
- US emissions warning lamp: off
- ECE electronic engine power reduction: off
- US electronic engine power reduction: off
- CC message: none

Service instruction
- Excessive intake-air temperatures produce loss of power
- If the mixture ratio is incorrect (too much antifreeze) then
the liquid can become too dense
