SUBJECT: SPARK PLUG CHANGE FOR COLD STARTABILITY
MODELS AFFECTED: 1982 1.8L OHC ENGINES (VIN CODE 0)
To assist cold startability on some 1982 1.8L OHC-FI engines, at very low temperatures, the following change in spark plugs has been implemented:
CURRENT NEW
R42XLS6 R44XLS at .035 Gap
The purpose of this bulletin is to make this spark plug and gap change the same as 1983.
When spark plug replacement is necessary, the R44XLS plug at .035 gap should be used regardless of original plug type.
