3-4 ACCUMULATOR PISTON AND SPRING

The only difference resulting from the order of installation of the 3-4 accumulator piston and spring is the "feel" of the 3-4 shift. Durability should not be affected with either order.




The firmest 3-4 shift results from installing the spring into the case first. (Figure 1)




The softest 3-4 shift results from installing the piston into the case first (Figure 2)

Sealing of the ring on the piston is important! Latest piston with "0-ring" seal is GM # 8634956
