SUBJECT: SPARK KNOCK COMMENTS

MODELS AFFECTED: 1984 SKYLARKS WITH 2.5L ENGINE


A customer comment of spark knock on the 2.5L engine may be received. If normal diagnosis in Section 6E2 of the Service Manual does not repair this condition, a new PROM may be installed, as listed below. This also increases TCC engagement speed to 38 mph. This condition applies only to vehicles with automatic transmissions/transaxles.
