MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 SKYHAWK WITH 2.0 TURBO (VIN M) AND MG1 5 SPEED TRANSAXLE, TRANSAXLE CODE RRD

There may be instances when technicians are replacing the fill tube plug, Part Number 10046677 with a fluid level indicator (dipstick) that goes into similar transaxles (See Figure 1). An overfill condition can result, along with hard shifting effort, if this wrong indicator is installed. The MG1 transaxle already has a fluid level indicator (dipstick) that screws into the case and will show the required fluid level (See Figure 2).
