Cylinder Head Bolts

In the proper sequence (refer to figure 6):

1. Tighten each bolt to 34 Nm (25 lbs ft)
2. Tighten an additional 1/4 turn (90°)
3. Tighten an additional 1/4 turn (90°)

CAUTIONS:
^ This engine uses special torque to yield head bolts. This design bolt requires a special tightening procedure. Failure to follow the given procedure will cause head gasket failure and possible engine damage.

^ Should you reach 81 Nm (60 lbs ft) at any time in Steps 2 and 3, you should STOP. Do NOT complete the balance of the 90° turn on this bolt.
