Cylinder Head Bolts

Fig. 7 Cylinder head & camshaft carrier bolt tightening sequence:

Torque all bolts a little at a time, in the sequence shown (refer to figure 7):

^ Torque bolts to 18 ft. lbs.
^ Turn an additional 60°
^ Turn an additional 60°
^ Turn an additional 60°

After completion, start engine and let engine idle until thermostat opens. Turn engine off and tighten all bolts in sequence:

^ Turn an additional 30 to 50°
