Installation


1. Rest rear head and cylinder assembly on support ring with control valve at 6 o'clock position, and install guide pin through hole at 11 o'clock position.
2. Lubricate new O-ring with refrigerant oil and install O-ring in groove.
3. Install bearing and thrust washers in position noted during disassembly.
4. Align guide pin recess in front head with guide pin, install head and press head onto cylinder with both hands to ensure that O-ring is seated.
5. Install through bolts and new gaskets hand tight, then remove guide pin.
6. Progressively torque through bolts to 72-84 inch lbs. in alternating pattern.
7. Install new shaft seal as outlined.
8. Add the same amount of new refrigerant oil to compressor that was removed during step 1 of removal.
9. Ensure that compressor rotates freely, then reinstall clutch components removed previously.
10. Install compressor, evacuate and recharge system and check for leaks.
