Keyless Entry Transmitter Battery: Service and Repair

The remote transmitters for the RKE system require periodic battery replacement. Battery life under normal operation should be approximately two years. The back side of the transmitter contains a cover providing access to the battery compartment. To open, place the round end of a GM Door Key in the slot and rotate the cover counter-clockwise one sixteenth of a turn. The cover should then be able to be lifted from the transmitter. An O-Ring is used to ensure a proper seal and should be reinstalled when replacing the battery. Use replacement - battery Sanyo CR2025.
