Washer Fluid Is Low

Washer Fluid Low Circuit:

DESCRIPTION:

The BCM provides system voltage to the low washer fluid circuit, and the washer fluid level switch provides the single path to ground. The BCM supplies and internally monitors the voltage level of the circuit at pin 2A4/2A6. When the washer fluid level circuit is open the BCM will detect system voltage, but if the washer fluid level switch provides a path to ground (low washer fluid condition present), the BCM will detect low voltage. If this condition exists for at least 15.0 seconds, the BCM will illuminate the "WASHER FLUID" lamp on the IPC.

TEST CONDITIONS:

Ignition 3 voltage is present.

FAILURE CONDITIONS:

Low washer fluid level exists for at least 15.0 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN:

1. Display the "WASHER FLUID" telltale on the IPC.

DIAGNOSIS:

Erroneous message - Short to ground on circuit 99 or shorted sensor.

No message - Open in circuit 99, open in sensor, or open in circuit 803.
