Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

Mass Air Flow Sensor:

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on this engine is part of the throttle body assembly.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner.
3. Remove fresh air duct.
4. Disconnect 3 wire electrical connector.
5. Remove 4 screws holding MAF sensor to throttle body. The MAF sensor is the electronics portion (black) plus the aluminum housing to which it is attached.

NOTE: Do not attempt to remove gasket. It is not removable. It is not serviced separately.

INSTALLATION

1. Install 4 screws holding MAF to throttle body.
2. Reconnect electrical connector.
3. Install air cleaner and duct work. Be sure air cleaner to MAF sensor gasket is installed properly.
