Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Raise vehicle.
3. Disconnect wiring harness connector from knock sensor.
4. Remove knock sensor from engine block.

INSTALLATION

1. Install knock sensor into engine block. Be sure threads are clean. Tighten to 19 N-m (14 lb.ft.). NOTE: Overtorquing can damage the knock sensor.
2. Reconnect wiring harness connector to the knock sensor.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Reconnect negative battery cable.
