Circuit Operation - UART Data Line
The
data line is the communication link between the various modules in the vehicle and the technician. Besides allowing the modules to communicate with each other it allows the technician to run system diagnostics via the Data Link Connector
(DLC). This allows the technician to read and erase diagnostic trouble codes using a scan tool (among other functions).
