Brake Switch (Cruise Control): Service and Repair

Brake Switch Assembly:




Brake Switch Install:






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Drivers side hush panel.
2. Electrical connector(s).
3. Vacuum hose.
4. Switch assembly.

Inspect
Vacuum hose for cracks and/or deterioration.
Switch retainer for cracks.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New switch assembly into retainer.

A. Hold brake pedal depressed while installing switch or valve. Switch should bottom on retainer. Note that audible clicks can be heard as the threaded portion of the switch is pushed through the retainer.
B. Slowly pull brake pedal fully rearward against pedal stop moving switch or valve assembly rearward.
C. Release brake pedal and pull back again to assure proper adjustment of switch or valve.
D. Visually reinspect retainer for cracks.

2. Electrical connector(s).
3. Driver's side hush panel.
