Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Camshaft And Crankshaft Position Sensors:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Serpentine belt.
3. Coolant pump pulley bolts (4); move coolant pump pulley aside to gain access to camshaft position sensor.
4. Camshaft position sensor retaining screw.
5. Using a long screw driver, carefully work the camshaft position sensor away from the front cover.
6. Disconnect sensor electrical connector and remove sensor from underneath front engine mount bracket.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Camshaft position sensor.
2. Electrical connector.

3. Camshaft position sensor retaining screw.

Tighten
Screw to 4 to 6 Nm (35 to 53 lb. in.).

4. Coolant pump pulley and 4 bolts.

Tighten
Bolts to 11 Nm (97 lb. in.).


5. Serpentine belt.
6. Negative battery cable.
