Center Console Ashtray Assembly is Distorted due to Heat from Ashtray Lamp (Replace Lamp Bulb)

Models:
1995 Buick Riviera - Built from VIN Breakpoint SOP to 33468

Condition

Some owners may comment on the ashtray assembly becoming distorted due to heat build up from the ashtray lamp.

Cause

Condition may be caused from an incorrect bulb installed during the assembly process resulting in incorrect candle power.

Correction

Replace current ashtray, P/N 25557437, and ashtray lamp bulb with new bulb, P/N 9417561, using the following procedure:

Ashtray assembly with center console

Remove

1. Upper console trim plate, pull trim plate to remove.

2. Screws.

3. Pull ashtray assembly from console, releasing tabs from retainers.

4. Socket from plastic shroud.

5. Bulb from socket.

Install

1. New bulb into socket.

2. Socket to plastic shroud.

3. New ashtray assembly to console, push to engage tabs.

4. Screws.

5. Upper console trim plate.
