Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

EVAPORATOR CORE

NOTE: The OEM service manual does not provide images for this procedure.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Recover refrigerant.
4. Drain cooling system.
5. Heater core. Service and Repair
6. Evaporator core block connection at cowl.
7. Evaporator core cover.
8. Evaporator.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Evaporator.
2. Evaporator core cover.
3. Evaporator core block connector.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 24 Nm (18 lb. ft.).

4. Heater core.
5. Fill cooling system and check for leaks.
6. Negative battery cable.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).

7. Evacuate, charge and leak test system.
8. Air cleaner and duct assembly.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 5 Nm (44 lb. in.).
