Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair




Air Inlet Duct:






NOTICE: Care must be taken when handling Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to the ECT will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the air inlet duct (5).
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor.
4. Remove the ECT sensor (2) from the engine coolant pump (1).


INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Coat the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor threads with sealer P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
2. Install the ECT sensor (2) into the engine coolant pump (1).

Tighten
Sensor to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).

3. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the air inlet duct (5).
5. Refill the engine coolant.
6. Start the engine and check for leaks.
7. Recheck the engine coolant level.
