Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Service:






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Air inlet tube.
2. TP sensor electrical connector.
3. Two TP sensor attaching screws.
4. TP sensor.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed idle position, install the TP sensor on the throttle body assembly, making sure the TP sensor pickup lever is located ABOVE the tang on the throttle actuator lever.
2. Two TP sensor attaching screws, using a thread-locking compound on the screws. Loctite(R) 262, GM Part No. 1052624, or equivalent should be used. Tighten screws to 2.0 Nm (18 lb in).
3. TP sensor electrical connector.
4. Air inlet tube.
