Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair









REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
2. Remove the manifold vacuum lines at the throttle body.
3. Remove the TP sensor (1) electrical connector.
4. Remove the two TP sensor attaching screws.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed idle position, install the TP sensor (1) on the throttle body assembly.
2. Install the two TP sensor attaching screws, using a thread-locking compound on the screws. Loctite 262 (R), GM Pan No. 1052624, or equivalent should be used.
- Tighten the attaching screws to 3 Nm (27 in lb).
3. Install the TP sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the manifold vacuum lines to the throttle body.
5. Install the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
