SBM Programming/RPO Configuration

The service SBM's EEPROM chip must be programmed with the proper RPO configurations. The EEPROM stores information regarding the vehicle options and point of sale. when the SBM is replaced, the SBM must be programed to identify the following information:
^ Real Time Damping (RTD).
^ Memory Options.
^ Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM).
^ HVAC.
^ Dual Zone HVAC.
^ Country of Sale (US, Canada, Europe, Gulf, etc.).

If the SBM is not properly programmed, the vehicle will exhibit a no-crank condition. If the SBM is not properly configured, the SBM will set default values for some systems, which could cause malfunctions in other systems.
