Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Accumulator Mounting:






Remove or Disconnect

1. Recover refrigerant.
2. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
3. Inlet and outlet pipes at accumulator.
4. Accumulator strap and bolt.
5. Accumulator.

Install or Connect

1. Accumulator.
2. Accumulator strap and bolt.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 4 N.m (36 lb. in.).

3. New O-ring seals and seal washers with a coat of mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
4. Suction line fitting to accumulator.

Tighten
^ Fitting to 47 N.m (35 lb. ft.).

5. Compressor line to accumulator.

Tighten
^ Bolt to 16 N.m (11 lb. ft.).

6. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
7. Evacuate, charge and leak test system.
