Low or Uneven Trim Height

Incorrect trim heights can produce symptoms similar to wheel misalignment. Check the trim heights whenever you diagnose steering and vibration concerns. Refer to TRIM HEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS.

Observe the following conditions to measure trim height accurately:
^ Ensure the tires are inflated to the correct pressure. Refer to TIRE PLACARD DESCRIPTION in GENERAL INFORMATION.
^ Ensure the fuel tank is full.
^ Ensure the coolant is full to capacity. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in ENGINE COOLING.
^ Ensure the vehicle has no additional weight or passengers.
^ Ensure the front seat is in the rearward position.
^ Empty the rear compartment except for the spare tire and the jack and a simulated fuel load, if required.
^ Position the vehicle on a known level floor.
^ Close all the doors.
^ Close the hood.
^ Close the rear compartment lid.
