Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Description:

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the TP sensor electrical connector.

2. Remove the 2 TP sensor attaching screws.

3. Remove the TP sensor.

Description:

4. Remove the TP sensor O-ring.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the TP sensor O-ring.
2. With the throttle valve in the normal closed idle position, install the TP sensor on the throttle body assembly.
3. Install the 2 TP sensor attaching screws, using a thread-locking compound on the screws. Loctite(r) 262, GM Part No. 1052624, or equivalent should be used.
Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor attaching screws to 2.0 Nm (18 lb. in.).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the TP sensor electrical connector.
