Radiator Replacement

Removal Procedure

^ Tools Required
- J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers





1. Carefully remove throttle body air inlet duct.
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
3. Remove the electric cooling fans. Refer to Cooling Fan Replacement - Electric.
4. Remove the upper radiator brackets and bolts.





5. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the hose clamps at the radiator.
6. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.
7. Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
8. Remove the low coolant module.
9. Disconnect the transaxle oil cooler lines from the radiator. Refer to one of the following:
^ Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement (With Threaded Fittings) in Transmission and Drivetrain.
^ Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement (With Quick Connect Fittings) in Transmission and Drivetrain.
^ Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement (Threaded) in Transmission and Drivetrain.
^ Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement (Quick Connect) in Transmission and Drivetrain.

10. Remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the radiator to the lower mounts.
2. Connect the transaxle oil cooler lines to the radiator. Refer to one of the following:
^ Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement (With Threaded Fittings) in Transmission and Drivetrain
^ Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Pipes Replacement (With Quick Connect Fittings) in Transmission and Drivetrain

3. Install the low coolant module.
4. Connect the upper radiator hose.
5. Connect the lower radiator hose.
6. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition and install the hose clamps at the radiator.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





7. Install the radiator brackets and bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the electric cooling fans.
9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
10. Carefully install the throttle body air inlet duct.
11. Inspect for leaks.
