Inadvertent Load (Battery Rundown) Protection

The Body Control Module (BCM) has a feature called the inadvertent load (battery rundown) protection. The BCM de-energizes CKT 1732 10-22 minutes after the ignition switch has been turned from the ACC or RUN position to the LOCK or OFF position.

The BCM restores power to CKT 1732 when the following conditions are met:
^ Turning the ignition switch from the LOCK or OFF position to the ACC or RUN position.
^ Removing the key from the ignition lock cylinder.
^ Opening any of the vehicle doors.
^ Turning the IP dimmer switch to the DOME position.
^ The BCM receives a message from the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR).

The inadvertent battery power rundown protection feature is mileage-sensitive. The vehicles with less than 13-16.5 total driven miles have a 3 minute time-out instead of 10 minutes.
