Inflation Pressure

The pressure recommended for all models is carefully calculated to provide the following:
^ A comfortable ride
^ Responsive steering
^ Maximum tread wear
^ Extended tire life
^ Resistance to bruise

Check tire pressure monthly or before any extended trip. For best results, adhere to the following conditions:
^ The tires should be cold
^ Let the vehicle sit for three hours or more
^ Drive the car for less than one mile

Set the tire pressure to the proper specification. Refer to Tire and Wheel Specifications.

Place valve caps or extensions on the valves in order to keep dust and water out.

Incorrect pressure can affect driving conditions.
^ Higher than recommended pressure can cause the following:
- A hard ride
- Tire bruising or carcass damage
- Rapid tread wear at the center of the tire
^ Lower than recommended pressure can cause the following:
- Tire squeal on turns
- Hard steering
- Rapid and uneven wear on the edge of the thread
- Tire rim bruises and rupture
- Tire cord breakage
- High tire temperatures
- Reduced handling
- High fuel consumption
- Soft ride
^ Unequal pressure on the same axle can cause the following:
- Uneven braking
- Steering lead
- Reduced handling
- Torque steer
