BCM

Use one of these two methods for clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) in the Body Control Module (BCM) memory:
^ The scan tool (Tech 2) method.
^ The ignition cycle default method.

These methods will not clear BCM DTCs:
^ Unplugging the BCM electrical connectors.
^ Disconnecting the battery cables.
^ Turning the ignition switch off (except on an ignition cycle default).

IMPORTANT: Test for proper BCM operation and the absence of DTCs after completing the clearing procedure:
^ DTC P1626 will set in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when the ignition switch is on with the Body Control Module (BCM) disconnected.
^ When BCM diagnostics and repairs are completed, refer to A Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check in Computers and Control Systems for more information on PCM related DTCs. Testing and Inspection

Scan Tool Method
Refer to the Scan Tool (Tech 2) User's Manual for menu navigation instructions.

Ignition Cycle Default
The Body Control Module (BCM) clears a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) automatically when the malfunction that set such DTC does not occur for 100 ignition cycles.
