Electric Park Lock Module - Disassemble

DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE

- Tools Required
- J 41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture
- J 41688 Steering Column Anti Rotation Pin





1. Remove the tilt lever.
2. Insert J 41688 into the lower shroud.

IMPORTANT: Place the steering column in the center position.

3. Put the steering column and J 41352 into a vise.





4. Use a small screwdriver to pull the filler plug out of the bottom of the lower shroud.
5. Insert the small screwdriver into the filler plug hole in the bottom of the lower shroud.





6. Use the screwdriver to push up on the manual override of the electric park lock (1).
7. Turn the key to the "lock" position. Remove the key.





8. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (1) from the lower shroud (2).
9. Remove the lower shroud (1) from the upper shroud.





10. Tilt the lower shroud down.
11. Slide the lower shroud backward in order to disengage the locking tabs.





12. Remove the 2 Torx head screws (1) from the upper shroud (2).
13. Remove the upper shroud (2) from the steering column.





14. Remove the black connector (1) from the electric park lock (3).
15. Remove the Torx head screw (2) from the electric park lock (3).





16. Press on the electric park lock (2) with a small screwdriver and at the same time pull the electric park lock (2) out of the lock module assembly (1).
