SIR Steering Wheel Module Coil - Centering

CENTERING PROCEDURE





1. The SIR coil assembly will become uncentered if the following items occur:
1.1. The steering column is separated from the steering gear and rotates.
1.2. The centering spring is pushed down and the hub rotates while the coil is removed from the steering column.

2. After removal of the coil assembly from the steering column, hold the coil with the bottom facing upward.
3. While holding the coil assembly, depress the spring lock in order to rotate the hub counterclockwise until it stops.
4. Ensure the coil ribbon (1) is wound against the center hub.
5. Rotate the coil hub clockwise approximately 2 and one half turns.
6. Release the spring lock between the locking tabs.
