Automatic Transmission Brace Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
4. Remove the transaxle brace bolts.
5. Remove the transaxle brace.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the transaxle brace.
2. Hand start the bolts to the engine and to the transaxle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the transaxle brace bolts to the transaxle.
^ Tighten the transaxle brace bolts to the transaxle to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the transaxle brace bolts to the engine.
^ Tighten the transaxle brace bolts to the engine to 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure.
