Shift Interlock: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor in in the Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
3. Remove the one spring clip (2) and shift select cable (1) from manual selector lever.





4. Remove the one E-clip (2) and shift select cable from manual selector base.





5. Remove the four bolts and manual selector from vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the manual selector into the vehicle. Secure the manual selector with four bolts (2).
^ Tighten the manual selector bolts to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).





2. Connect the shift select cable into manual selector base. Secure with one E-clip.





3. Connect shift select cable to manual selector lever. Secure with one spring clip.
4. Install the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
5. Connect negative battery cable.
