Deflector Ring Replacement
FRONT AXLE- DEFLECTOR RINGDisassembly Procedure
Important: Use soft metal or wood in order to protect the halfshaft bar.
1. Clamp the halfshaft bar in a vise.
2. Remove the deflector ring (1) from CV joint outer race with a brass drift and a hammer. Discard the deflector ring (1).
Assembly Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Position and square up a new deflector ring (1) at the press diameter of CV outer race.
^ Tighten the nut until the deflector bottoms against shoulder of CV outer race using a fabricated tool.
2. The fabricated tool consist of the following items:
^ A three inch pipe coupling
^ A sheet metal sleeve
^ A M24 x 1.5 nut
