Rear Side Door Replacement



Rear Side Door Removal

Removal Procedure





1. Open the rear and the front doors.
2. Separate the door wire harness conduit (2) from the connector.
3. Depress the tabs (1) on the door wire harness connector in order to release the connector from the pillar.
4. Disconnect the door wiring harness (2) from the body wire harness (3).




5. Remove the door check link fastener (1) from the pillar.




6. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
7. Lift the door in order to remove.



Installation Procedure

1. Align the door hinge halves.
2. Lower the door so that the hinge halves mate together.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.


Important: Use Loctite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to installing the fasteners.


3. Install the intermediate door hinge fasteners (1).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair) .




5. Install the wiring conduit (4) over the door wire harness connector (2).
6. Connect the door wire harness (2) to the body wire harness (3).




7. Snap the assembled connectors into the pillar, ensuring a tight seal between the rubber conduit (2) and the pillar.
8. Adjust the door. Refer to Door Adjustment (Adjustments) .
9. Touch up any paint damage to the intermediate rear door hinge and fasteners with body color paint.
