SIR Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Important: Before performing the following procedures, check the fused jumper assembly for burnt 2 amp fuses.

1. Remove the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble -Off Vehicle.





2. Pop the wire harness assembly (4) out of the wire harness strap (5).
Remove three wire harness straps (3) from the wire harness assembly (4).
Remove one wire harness strap (2) from the upper tilt head assembly (1).





3. Remove the black SIR connector (2) from the fused jumper assembly connector (1).





4. Remove the retaining ring (1).
5. Remove the SIR coil assembly (3).
6. Remove the wave washer (2).
