Engine Coolant Temperature

The coolant temperature data is calculated within the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM controls the coolant TEMP indicator via the class 2 serial data line. The instrument cluster turns on the coolant TEMP indicator when the PCM determines that the engine coolant temperature has reached a value of approximately 124°C (255°F).
