Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure
1. Remove the upper tilt head components. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) or Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift).
2. Remove the steering column lock cylinder set. Refer to Steering Column Lock Cylinder Set -Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) or Steering Column Lock Cylinder Set -Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift).





3. Remove the connector (2) from the electric park lock (3).
4. Remove the TORX (R) head screw (1) from the electric park lock (3).





5. Remove the electric park lock (2) from the lock module assembly (1).





6. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the lock module assembly (2).
6.1. Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees.
6.2. Pull the key alarm connector (1) out of the lock module assembly (2).





7. Remove the 2 tapping screws (2) from the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1).
8. Let the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1) hang freely.

Important: The lock bolt assembly (4) is under slight spring tension from the lock bolt spring (3). Hold the lock bolt (4) in place while removing the lock module assembly (2).





9. Remove the 3 pan head tapping screws (1) from the lock module assembly (2).
10. Remove the lock module assembly (2) from the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
11. Remove the lock bolt assembly (4) from the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
12. Remove the lock bolt spring (3) from the lock bolt assembly (4).
