Trailing Arm: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

^ Tools Required
- J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





2. Remove the ABS electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor (1).





3. Disconnect the trailing arm (1) from the knuckle.





4. Disconnect the trailing arm from the trailing arm bracket (1).





5. Remove the trailing arm (1).

Installation Procedure





1. Connect the trailing arm (1) to the trailing arm bracket (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the bracket bolt and nut.
^ Tighten the bracket nut to 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the trailing arm to the knuckle.
^ Tighten the trailing arm to knuckle nut to 260 Nm (192 ft. lbs.).





4. Connect the ABS electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor (1).
5. Lower the vehicle.
