A/C Refrigerant Filter Replacement

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Disconnect the fittings at each end of the A/C filter.
3. Remove the A/C filter from the line.
4. Remove the O-rings.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Lubricate the new O-rings using 525 viscosity mineral base oil.
2. Install the O-rings to the new filter.
3. Install the new A/C filter.
Ensure that the arrow points toward the evaporator.
4. Tighten the fittings, making sure that the A/C line is bottomed out into the filter on both ends.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 15 N.m ( 11 lb ft).

5. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
6. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A.
