Charging System Indicator
The IPC illuminates the
charging system indicator when any of the following occur:

The PCM detects a malfunction in the
charging system. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the BCM in Order to activate an audible warning.

The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle.
