Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.




3. Remove the two T/P sensor screws.




4. Remove the T/P sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the T/P sensor.
2. Apply thread-locking compound GM P/N 12345493, Canadian P/N 10953488, or equivalent to the T/P sensor screws.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




3. Install the two T/P sensor screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




4. Connect the T/P sensor electrical connector.
5. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
