Lock Replacement - Rear Door

LOCK REPLACEMENT - REAR DOOR

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear door water deflector.




2. Disconnect the rear door outside handle rod from the rear door lock.
3. Disconnect the rear door inside handle rods.
4. Disconnect the rear door inside handle rods from the rear door inside rod block.




5. Remove the rear door lock screws (1, 2, 3,).
6. Remove the rear door lock from the rear door.




7. Disconnect the rear door lock electrical connectors.
8. Remove the rear door inside handle rods from the rear door lock.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the rear door inside handle rods to the rear door lock.
2. Connect the rear door lock electrical connectors.
3. Position the rear door lock into the rear door.




4. Apply Lock(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382, or Canadian P/N 10953489, or equivalent prior to installing the rear door lock screws.
5. Install the rear door lock screws in the correct fastener tightening sequence (top, bottom, middle, 1, 2, 3).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




6. Connect the rear door inside handle rods.
7. Connect the rear door inside handle rods to the rear door inside rod block.
8. Connect the rear door outside handle rod to the rear door lock.
9. Install the rear door water deflector.
