BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable from the battery.




2. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable bolt from the core support.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
4. Remove the lower radiator baffle.
5. Remove the battery cable conduit from the conduit retainers.
6. Remove the battery cable from the conduit.




7. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable bolt and cable from the engine block.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the battery ground (negative) cable to the vehicle.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.




3. Install the battery ground (negative) cable and bolt to the engine block.

Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the battery cable to the conduit.
5. Install the battery cable conduit to the conduit retainers.
6. Install the lower radiator baffle.
7. Lower the vehicle.




8. Install the battery ground (negative) cable and bolt to the core support.

Tighten the battery ground (negative) cable at core support bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

9. Install the battery ground (negative) cable to the battery.
