Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair



Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement
Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the oil pan drain plug and allow the oil to drain.





3. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (2) from the oil level sensor.





4. Remove the oil level sensor.

Installation Procedure





1. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Install the oil level sensor.
Tighten the sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).





2. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (2) to the oil level sensor.





3. Install the oil pan drain plug.
Tighten the plug to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Refer to Capacities - Approximate Fluid.
