Ignition Coil: Service and Repair



IGNITION COIL(S) REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the intake manifold cover.
3. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil being serviced.
4. Remove the ignition coil bolts.
5. Remove the ignition coil from the ignition control module.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the ignition coil to the ignition control module.
2. Install the ignition coil bolts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

3. Connect the spark plug wires to the ignition coil being serviced.
4. Install the intake manifold cover.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
